SMALL GROUPS
Time spent with God and each other - sharing life together. Small Groups are the primary way to be connected here at FBC. As our church grows, there is an ever-increasing need for the deep level of connection that is experienced in the small group setting.

why small groups exist
Small Groups exist to bring people to Jesus, celebrate together, connect with each other, grow in our faith, and develop our gifts.

Through this purpose, Small Groups offer the unique ability of developing people in all five of these areas: evangelism (bring), worship (celebrate), fellowship (connect), discipleship (grow), and ministry (gifts). To connect on a deeper level with God and each other, through our daily life experiences, offers us true community, and is the reason we encourage involvement in a Small Group.

Small Groups usually consist of 4 - 12 people. They meet on nearly every night of the week, and run in a variety of formats (weekly, bi-weekly, three times a month, for example). They start in September, and run through to the end of May, with many of the groups doing more "casual" get-togethers through the summer months. Times may vary for different groups, but generally run for about an hour-and-a-half.

involvement in a small group
There are opportunities to lead a group, become an apprentice leader, host a group in your home, or attend a group.

taking the small group step
There are a variety of ways in which you can take steps to becoming involved in a Small Group. Here are some practical suggestions for you.

  • Check off that you are interested in joining a group on the Welcome Card during our Sunday Worship Service.
  • Start your own group - talk to Pastor Mark about the process.
  • Talk to someone already involved, and join their group.
