Our purpose here at FBC is to lead people into a vital relationship with Jesus Christ, by creating an environment where people will belong, believe, become.

We recognize that our faith is a journey, and that we all progress at different stages. You can rest assured, that whatever stage you are at in your life, you will find God's love here. It drives all we do.

Maybe you are just investigating Jesus, or new in your relationship with Him; have had some church experiences in the past, but have been away for a while; or have been walking closely with Jesus for quite some time. Regardless of where you're at, you belong at FBC.

Once we experience that love offered to us by Jesus, and those who love Him, we cannot help but seek out all that abundant life offers to us. You will hunger for more of who He is; and will be excited to join us in growing in your relationship with Him. We are drawn to know Him in an ever-increasing way. The environment is right for you to learn even more about what it means to believe in the God we serve.

That conviction will lead you. We naturally act on the things we believe in. So the amazing experiences here at FBC are a supernatural by-product (because of God's help through the Holy Spirit) of us simply becoming more like Jesus. Because of us liking what we see in Him, we want to be more like Him. Because of His love for us, we want to love Him back. So this is the very thing that motivates us to serve our God and those we come in contact with - both within our church community and the community of Lloydminster. We count it a tremendous privilege to strive towards who Jesus wants us to become.

So, once again, whether you are just investigating spiritual matters, or are acutely aware of how vital this relationship is with Jesus Christ; we welcome you to the environment here at FBC - a place where you can belong, believe, and become.

DISCOVERING A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Principle one:

God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Principle two:

All of us are sinful and separated from God. Therefore we cannot know and experience God's love and plan for our life.

"...all fall short of God's glorious standard" (Romans 3:23)

Principle three:

Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Him we can know and experience God's love and plan for our life.

"I am the way, the truth and the life," Jesus said. "No one can come to the Father except through me" (John 14:6)

"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish" (John 11:25-26)

Principle four:

We must individually accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our life.

"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12)

"I'm standing at the door and I'm knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20)

"Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you that you sacrificed your life for me so that I could be right before God. I want you to come into my life. I accept the fact that you are the only one who can give me the power to change and save me from an eternity apart from God. Thank you for the forgiveness that comes through Jesus and for giving me eternal life with God. Take control of my life. Make me the person you created me to be."

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life, as He promised. When you accept what Jesus did, you become a child of God and all your sins are forgiven. As amazing as it sounds, Jesus promised that if you accept him you will live forever in a place God has prepared for you.

If you have prayed this prayer, and asked Christ to come into your heart, please contact the church office and we at First Baptist Church want to talk to you and help you in your new found journey with the Lord Jesus Christ.
